oh, yes. i COMPLETELY understand triggering friends. mine stopped eating a couple of years ago and we were really close and i started developing eating problems as well.

part of it was the competition factor; i wanted to be skinnier than she was. but we’re also very influenced by our friends’ behavior– especially those close to us. and it sucks.

it’s been 3 years now and my eating problems have increased. we’re no longer friends, and whenever i see her and her skinny-ness i feel horrible about myself.

first off, your blog is wonderful. total inspiration! you are beautiful and doing so well. i enjoy your painting. it may not have turned out the way it started but nothing in life ever does. just because it took on a new life doesn’t mean that life is not awesome.

Ohh ha. Did I have a friend who triggered my ED? Most definitely. Facebook me! I’m under Caroline Stokes. You can message me about your friend issues whenever you need.

Great job with the HFCS today! I have the same mental block against it, but honestly, it’s just food! And a teeny tiny bit of it can’t hurt at all. In fact, it probably helped you, because that’s one more way you’ve proved that you’re much stronger than ED!

Hey-I’ve been out of the hospital for about 2 or 3 months now…and I’ve been following your blog…You are such an inspiration…My ED was in fact triggered by one of my friends, who “i believed” was skinnier than me. It didn’t help that she would always comment on how much others around her ate, even while she was “pigging out” herself! So if ya wanna talk-throw me an email- cmdrayer@comcast.net.
