Curried Tofu Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of whole grain bread (or white, your call)
- 3 slices of cheddar cheese veggie slices
- 75 g hard or extra-firm tofu slices (approx. 4 super thin slices)
- 3 tsp. Smart Balance (or other heart healthy butter substitute)
- Curry, garlic & onion powders
- salt
Directions
“Fry ” tofu slices with 1 tsp. of butter spread while sprinkling on curry powder, onion, garlic, and salt to taste until the tofu is browned. Assemble the grilled cheese sandwich as usual, adding in the tofu slices, and butter each side of the sandwich with 1 tsp. of butter spread. Fry sandwich until cheese is melted and bread is browned.
